2 Teens Accused of Attempted Robbery
Police say pair demanded money from 2 skateboarders.
Two teenagers were arrested and accused of trying to rob youngsters who were skateboarding in Sea Cliff Friday night.
Nassau County Sixth Squad detectives said that Benjamin Molina, 16, of Woodbury and Helder Molina, 18, of Glen Cove demanded money and property from two 13-year-olds who were skateboarding on Sea Cliff Avenue. When one refused, police said, Benajamin Molina punched him in the eye. Both of the suspects then fled, empty-handed, in a 1995 Toyota.
Police said Helder Molina surrendered to police at 10:06 p.m. and Benjamin Molina was arrested at his home at 10:30 p.m.
Both defendants are charged with second-degree robbery and second-degree assault and were arraigned Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead.
