have issued composite sketches of two unknown women wanted in connection with a series of deception burglaries that are preying on elderly homeowners throughout the county.

Cops are asking for the public's help in identifying the two women, one of whom was described as having a "bulging," or "wandering," eye.

The pair, which are believed to be working as a team, are wanted in connection with a series of residential that began in December and have continued through January.

Valley Stream

Three men have been arrested after they presented forged prescriptions to a CVS pharmacy in Valley Stream and Lynbrook Friday, according to police.

Detectives said that Kwame Lake, 19, of Hempstead, presented a forged prescription at the CVS Pharmacy located at 44 N. Central Ave. in Valley Stream, calling for Promethazine with Codeine. Subsequent to investigation, the vehicle which was operated by the defendant was located with occupants Kason Parker, 21, and Marlon Douglas, 21, both of Hempstead.

The vehicle description had been provided by the Lynbrook Police Department following an investigation of a forged prescription which had been presented to the CVS in Lynbrook, by a male operating the vehicle at the drive thru, police said. Search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of 10 blank prescriptions belonging to an unnamed doctor, three forged prescriptions written for Promethazine with Codeine and five bottles containing more than two ounces of Promethazine with Codeine, a narcotic preparation. Lake, Parker and Douglas are each being charged with second-degree possession of a forged instrument and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Lake is being charged with an additional count of second-degree possession of a forged instrument.

 

Garden City

A carjacking Wednesday night in front of at left a 21-year-old with stab wounds to his face, head and hand, according to Nassau County Third Squad detectives. Damien Armella, 31, was charged with attempted murder, first degree, two counts of robbery, first degree, two counts of assault, first degree, robbery, second degree, and possession of a dangerous weapon, fourth degree. Armella, of Lynbrook, was apprehended with the assistance of the New York State Police and the Suffolk County Police Department.

On Jan. 20, Garden City detectives arrested a 20-year-old Westbury man for a 2009 burglary on Russell Road. The arrest was based on evidence gathered during the lengthy investigation, which included matches on DNA initially collected at the scene of the crime.

After an investigation, Garden City detectives arrested a male 16-year-old from Garden City for two counts of selling marijuana on Jan. 21.

Plainview

A Massapequa Park man broke into the ruins of the former in Plainview but was arrested after, police said.

James A. Vitale, 48, allegedly entered the building at 1425 Old Country Road and tried to remove copper wiring at about 2:50 p.m. on Tuesday.

The burglar thought the electricty had been turned off, but the alarm went off and cops said they caught him red-handed in the basement.

Vitale was charged with burglary and possesion of burglary tools.

Port Washington

After being involved in a domestic incident, a Port Washington man was placed under arrest on Charles Avenue on Jan. 20 at 11:35 p.m.

A Port Washington man was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct, assault, resisting arrest and unlawful possession of marijuana at Webster Avenue On Jan. 22 at 8:34 p.m.
