Fire Breaks Out in Konica Minolta Building

No injuries reported; Nassau County Fire Marshall is investigating fire.

Fire broke out on a Charles Street property late Monday, according to officials.

At approximately 8:02 p.m., Glen Cove Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded to an exterior fire at 71 Charles Street, said Chief of EMS Matthew Venturino, where flames engulfed a building once occupied by Konica Minolta.

The Nassau County Fire Marshall’s Office is currently investigating the cause of the fire, according to Venturino. No injuries were reported.

Two Glen Cove EMS ambulances were on scene for firefighter rehab and support, he said. Jericho Fire Department was also called in to standby at EMS headquarters to cover any additional ambulance calls in Glen Cove.

Firefighters were under the command of Chief Rodni Leftwich. First Assistant EMS Chief James Jones directed all ambulatory operations at the scene.
