Jan. 19: School Evacuation, Open Mic Returns

Here's a look at what's happening in Glen Cove today.

 

1. The School for Language & Communication Development on Glen Cove Avenue was evacuated Wednesday when strong fumes deriving from a basement boiler were detected. Read the story here.

2. The Middle School Grade 8 Parent Orientation takes place tonight at Glen Cove High School from 7-9 p.m.

3. Glen Cove Weather Report: Expect sunshine and a few afternoon clouds with a high of 38. Snow showers are forecast for tonight with a low near 30. No significant accumulations are anticipated.

4. The Glen Cove Open Mic Night is up and running again at Page One Restaurant. Tonight’s edition will be in the main dining room, but attendees can still avail themselves of dinner off the $5 Open Mic Night bar menu. Sign up is 7:30 p.m., performances begin at 8 p.m.
