Nov. 17: Zoning Board Meets Tonight

Here's a look at what's happening today in Glen Cove.

 

1. The Glen Cove Zoning Board will meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Chambers of City Hall. Check back at 9 a.m. for the agenda.

2. The mic is open! the Glen Cove Downtown Business Improvement District and Glen Cove Patch are sponsoring a weekly acoustic open mic every Thursday at Page One Restaurant. Would-be singer/songwriters are encouraged to bring a guitar or other appropriate instrument. Sign-up begins at 7:30 p.m. Performances start at 8 p.m.

3. Glen Cove Weather Report: Today is expected to be overcast with rain showers at times and a high of 47.

4. Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum presents a look at the first Long Island communities during Native American Craft at the Glen Cove Public Library at 4 p.m. Touch a Native American oil lamp, see real arrowheads and create a wampum necklace with a stone arrowhead. Children in grades 1-5 are invited to attend. Registration is needed. Call 676-2130.

5. At the Glen Cove Senior Center: There is a personal training session with Steve Borrero at 3:30 p.m. Join an experienced trainer who will discuss fitness and teach news types of exercise.
