Question of the Day: Supporting Local Business

What store would you pick for a 'Cash Mob' move?

Residents of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, recently turned out to support a local business that had been serving the community since 1857.

Jim Black sent out an e-mail to about 40 people, writing, "Let's show our support for one of our local businesses," he wrote. "I challenge everyone to spend AT LEAST $20 at the hardware on the 21st." And they did, with scores of people lining up even before the store opened its doors for the day.

What local business would bring out the same support in Glen Cove?

I would love to see some support of Cove Fruit on Cedar Swamp Road. Tony has been serving the community for over 30 years. In addition to fruits and vegetables, Tony provides a selection of Italian grocery products, fresh bread, milk and eggs, coffee, and even some CD's and DVD's in Italian. Best of all is a chance to catch up on all the latest Glen Cove news with someone whose finger is on the pulse of the city.

I love this idea--letting a local business know it's appreciated is such a positive message.

My Sweet Tomato on Forest Ave would be my choice.
