5 Sands Point 'Caged Cats' Land New Homes
Some rescued cats found new homes via the Glen Cove Animal Lovers League Cat Adoption Drive at Petco.
Five of the earlier this month were adopted during the Cat Adoption Drive at on Saturday, Nov. 26, and Sunday, Nov. 27.
Volunteers said they are grateful for the community's help in finding new homes for the cats, who were mistreated and locked in cages without food or water.
Despite their treatment, most of the cats have been nursed back to health and are well tempered, acording to shelter staff. They said the cats make "perfect" holiday gifts, and come with a unique story behind their rescue.
