Strat-O-Matic Opening Day Announced

Glen Head gaming firm draws legions of loyal fans to its annual Opening Day.

Pitchers and catchers don't report for two more months, but baseball fans can kick off a new season Feb. 8.

That's when iconic Glen Head gaming firm Strat-O-Matic debuts its 2013 baseball game, the company announced Wednesday.

Strat-O-Matic's annual Opening Day draws fans from several states who wait in line to pick up the latest baseball cards. Purists play with game cards and 20-sided dice. But the game has adapted to computer and online gamers too. Those games are available for purchase now, but won't be unlocked until Opening Day.
