This guy is up to no good. His buddies put a fake ad into the paper accusing Delia of rearranging the Memorial Parade. No elected official, Republican too, will support this claim!
My friends who were there at the parade has told Rob this but he still continues with this lie!

@Willem G: Hey, that was a great ad. Her actions are a disgrace. I heard that only Ralph Suozzi called and apologized for her actions that day.

I'm surprised that there's a vet on the city council who remained silent on this issue. My friends tell me he's a BIG Delia supporter. Enough said!

She is an embarrassment to Glen Cove. She absolutely did do what is now being denied by her on Memorial Day. She harassed the parade coordinators until they moved Rob Germino and made him march behind her. He was the Grand Marshall and was in his Marine Corps uniform. The parade was delayed 15 minutes due to her childlike actions. There is now a new parade committee in Glen Cove because of her. These are the facts. She may want to deny it now, but even Mayor Ralph Suozzi called Rob Germino and apologized to him for what Delia Deriggi Whitton did. He was embarrassed by her actions and apologized to Rob on behalf of Glen Cove.

Hey Willem G. You seem to be a guy who wants the names of people who can back up a claim. Give us the names of your friends who were at the parade and told Rob Germino it didn't happen. We are all waiting

I took my mom over to Trousdale to visit her friends. They told us that after the TV debate, Germino told Ms. Whitton to go home and bake some cookies. Like, what is with that!

I don't know if Rob said that to Delia. Unless your mother's friends were there to see it, it should remain a rumor. I doubt they were in the channel 12 news studio. However Delia didn't show Rob any respect with the parade fiasco.

However, if Delia went home to bake cookies for a bake sale, i am pretty sure she would find a way to tax the kindergarten kids with a "cookie tax". That way she could have the baking materials and the gas that it took her to get to the bake sale paid for by the kids; along with her free health care.

First of all, I do not work for Rob.
I work for my wife and my family. I am tired of all the tax hikes that have occured in Glen Cove during Delia's time on the city council. The tax hikes are my motivation to get my voice heard. Not Rob Germino. Google Delia's party "working familes party". It is in my opinion a socialist party. Started by ACORN and UNIONS. Do you remember the ACORN scandal? Any "working families party" politician has a duty to stand up for the unions above all else. So Mary you are either married to a union member or you are one yourself in order to support Delia. Or you just love getting your taxes raised to fund the unions free health care. (Or Delia's free health care.) Delia has more nerves to take the free health care off the backs of our citizens for 2 hours worth of work. Nassau County is the highest taxed county in the country! She has helped us win that title with her time on the council. That is why I am being vocal.

Now for you calling me misogynistic. Ha! I did not say one statement that was hurtful towards woman. Name one statement that I said that was misogynistic?

By the way, I am voting for Kristina Hueser and Filomena Ricciadi for city council. They are woman and I love them.

And you are a Rebublican, what a shock! Perhaps you and your buddy can tell your women to bake you your cookies!

Thank you Ms. DeRiggi-Whitton. I'm paying for my health care and you're making me also pay 100% for yours...TYPICAL! I hope more taxpayers wake up on Election Day.

I challenge you Willem to find one smart thing that has come out of Delia's mouth. She claims taxes are too high but yet she is a culprit of my high taxes. Doh! She wants to cut down on wasteful spending, but yet she takes free health care. Doh!

There aren't any elected Republican officials in Glen Cove, but answer this Willem G. Why did Ralph Suozzi call Rob Germino and apologize to him for what she did? Apparently Ralph Suozzi knows it happened. And why were some members of Veterans groups upset enough to replace the parade committee members for the upcoming parade in 2012?

I just spoke with a member of the Memorial Day parade committee. He said that no one has been replaced on the committee. Everything is the same as the day of the parade.
He also told me that none of what you said about Delia ever occurred!!!
Why would you lie about something like that? You have been found out!!!

The sad truth is that Germino will not win. I honestly want him to win, but Delia is backed by a bunch of numb skull idiots and because of this, she's everywhere with advertisement. I don't know who ever convinced Delia Deficit-Whitton to run, but she has the IQ of burnt toast. Germino has no political experience, and is a little intense (or he was during the last election) but he is the better candidate.

Parade, Shmarade. This is all a distraction. The real issue is do we want to keep increasing taxes as Delia has done & continues to support or put the breaks on & look for ways to make Nassau County a more affordable place to live & for businesses to come & create jobs. That is your choice.

Enough of these petty side shows. That's what politicians pull when they don't want you to look at their record. Whether Germino can make a dent or not is questionable, but at least from his philosophy, it's clear he will try. I suggest you get past this nonsense & rhetoric & look at DeRiggi's record to determine if she would do the same.

Dirty Delia has sent out her third negative piece in as many days. She is attacking Rob Germino's $60,000 a year job while her husband has a $220,000 a year taxpayer job. Her father earns over $100,000 of taxpayer money every year in his taxpayer funded pension. HEY DIRTY DELIA! WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE EARNING A LIVING WORKING IN GOVERNMENT? YOU HAVE LIVED OFF OF IT YOUR ENTIRE LIFE!

@John J. John, don't forget Ann Famigliette, DeRiggi-Whitton's campaign treasurer. I heard that she still works for Nassau County. According to a 2006 Daily News article, she was raking in $90,000 a year on a government salary. I guess the Democrats don't mind that. Check it out here: http://articles.nydailynews.com/2006-07-24/news/18340886_1_county-employees-nassau-county-work-on-county-time

There is nothing, absolutely nothing of substance that can be said about this Delia; that is the reason why the campaign mail is made up of lies, and smears. It is absolutely true that she has lived off taxpayers money her entire life and, even as an elected official, her contribution to the council has been a perpetual "Aye" and a blank stare; needs to read from notes that she is a mother of three children, reads the numbers in her notes wrong and with a whining voice reminiscent of a wet cat. Her poor father is justifiably in denial of having an insufficiently equipped daughter, but the danger is in the Democrats who must have a fierce self-serving agenda and voluminous coffers to be willing to spend so much money for a non person like her as a front. Let's wake up and take an active role in our government. I say, let's expose the frauds, let's ask serious questions and vote for those who show a working intellect in their answers.

Not this one. Her father wrote and paid for it. In the campaign letter I received this weekend, he extolls his daughter's wonderful qualities, which as a father myself, is understandable. But why would I put any stock in what a father has to say about his own kid.

Yes. I saw that truck too. Great job x 2!!! Did you guys see the letter that Dim-wit Delia sent? She brags about voting NO on the Glen cove city budget. It's pretty funny: she sticks it to Ralph just to be able to write that she said no to a tax increase. Who is running her campaign? People are laughing at her stupidity for making such patently obvious move. Do they realize that 99% of the population is a least 10 points smarter than she is?

Holy Smokes. I guess it's politics as usual here in Glen Cove. We have one candidate (Delia DeRiggi Whitton) that openly discusses the issues effecting the people of this great county, and her goals to try to resolve those issues, while the other candidate (and his "good buddies) are upset about a parade. I have yet to hear Robert Germino's outline for his possible solutions to the problems we are facing. Instead, his platform on how to resolve the problems, is trash bashing his opponent while his cronies are pulling up and destroying Mrs. Whitton's campaign signs. I guess that's what you do when you don't have a cue. For our county's sake, I for one, hope Mrs. Whitton becomes our next County Legislator.

Ms.DeRiggi/-Mrs. Whitton, has opened no dialogue simply because she is incapable of dialogue. Her goals and actions speak of a person who is has not thinking capability. Her sub-standard-court-known father and special interest thieves have orchestrated a campaign made up of signs to serve as a front for the void and lies she is made of. If, after watching the debate and seeing her blank face at city council for these past years, voters can fall for such low level campaign, then we are really at a stage of civic and intellectual decay that is tragically serious and irreversible.

Before you mention her grueling schedule of photo ops at the Sr. Center, I readilyI acknowledge them, so let's get that out of the way. Now let's concentrate on her record in the city council, or lack thereof. Please, we're all ears. (Finally, one of supporters has come forward).

To Willem G.: you are getting angry, a sign that you have ran out of the little thinking energy that your are plagued with. You are cursing me and, of course, I can understand the frustration of not having enough brain power to handle a battle of words. Fair enough! Patience and compassion for the lesser endowed is an important quality in this life.
Anyway, just to fill that terrible void in your information field: physically I am 6'3", I have graduate degrees and I was born in a city far larger than Glen Cove. I moved here because it was so quaint and near the sea. I want to see this City rebuild it's quaint character on sound financial practices. What's wrong with this vision? I voted for Ralph and he has been a complete disappointment and failure on all levels. He had no job and his family used the name to get him one. He deserved a chance, but HE HAS FAILED!!!

Newsday is a corrupt, left wing rag that was enmeshed in iillegalities that cost it tons of money several years ago. Seems they were scamming their advertisers by lying about their non-existent circulation numbers. I have to conclude that their reporters are hired based on their left wing credentials. Which is why their readership has tanked, except for you of course. As to Germino, no political record so far. Just an ordinary young guy who joined the Marines and was sent to Iraq. Now tell me about DDW and try to match it to his courage and sacrifice.
