has named Essence Fowler has Youth of The Year, the highest honor a member can achieve, according to executive director Melissa Tierney.
freshman qualifies for the New York Youth of the Year title and a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship from the Reader's Digest Foundation, according to a release.
Fowler has been a member of the Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club for six years and participates in several Club programs: Power Hour, Step, Summer Youth Employment, Career Launch, and Ballroom Dancing.
Fowler said that she hopes to pursue a career in culinary arts after high school.
