Glen Cove EMS Adopts Families For Holidays

Each year during the holiday season Glen Cove EMS has been adopting Glen Cove families. The “Santa Run” project as it has been called begins in October when members begin making a list of gifts and checking it twice. This has been a tradition for over 10 years in which EMS gives back to the community in a different way.  This year 3 families were adopted and about 2 dozen gifts were given out.

In a convoy of ambulances and first responder trucks, EMS crews visited each family this past sunday. Instead of bringing medication, IV's and defibrillators to houses this time our EMTs had different type of equipment. We were armed with gifts and christmas spirit. Santa Clause and his elves were on hand to deliver the gifts to the children. Cookies and food were also given out as well as the opportunity to take photos with Santa Clause himself.

After the gifts were all delivered EMS crews along with Santa Clause visited the Glen Cove Hospital emergency room and St Roccos church. The day finished with a christmas party held upstairs at the firehouse for EMS members and their families.

I think the best course of action would be to contact any board member (their emails are listed) andRead More see what he or she has to say about it. That's one source that I would find reliable on this.
