Glen Cove Junior Girl Scouts, Troop 1243, completed their Bronze Award, the highest honor a Junior Girl Scout can earn.
The Bronze Award requires the girls to express their leadership and planning skills as they follow through on their selected project, which is aimed at benefitting the community.
Troop 1243, under the guidance of their leaders, demonstrated their commitment to helping others and helping the community by holding Pet Donation Drives throughout , in front of , and in their own neighborhoods.
Due to the generosity of the Glen Cove community, the troop donated over 300 lbs. of pet food to the together with toys, blankets, towels and other supplies.
Furthermore, the girls sewed pet beds, using old sweaters, which were also donated to the Animal Lovers League. The girls gained much knowledge while working on this worthy cause and look forward to continue giving back to the community.
