Atria Glen Cove Resident Recieves A Long Awaited Medal

Betti Buonacontri, 89, who lives at Atria Glen Cove, received a medal for her husband who passed away in the 70's. He was a World War II vet who was captured and held prisoner in Switzerland and escaped twice. They did not use to recognize these men as POW's up until recently after a bill that has been passed. Her grandson who is in the United States Air Force came dressed in his Air Force uniform to salute her and present her with her husbands finally deserved POW medal.
