EAC NETWORK RECEIVES A $20,000 GRANT FROM BANK OF AMERICA TO SUPPORT EMPLOYMENT READINESS INITIATIVE
EAC Network received a generous $20,000 grant from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation to support the agency’s Employment Readiness Initiative program. Last year EAC Network’s ERI program helped hundreds of Long Islanders find suitable employment through a wide range of vocational and supportive services.
The Employment Readiness Initiative (ERI) provides vocational and supportive services to homeless individuals and families of Nassau County free of charge. Program staff works in collaboration with homeless shelters in Nassau County to provide work readiness skills, employment referrals and case management services. “As a job readiness program we have a clear understanding of the tremendous barriers to employment the homeless population is facing”, said Shereen Goodson, Program Director for Employment Readiness Initiative. Individuals are provided with a comprehensive vocational assessment which assists the individual in identifying their barriers to employment and provide a plan for employment.
