Christine joined the Club's Board of Directors in 1979 and through the decades was a dedicated and committed leader wearing many governing hats including vice president, treasurer, secretary, president and chairman of the board, a role she still held when she passed away.  During her tenure, Christine always made the Club and the children two of her top priorities.  She would often be found at the Club writing personalized handwritten notes to friends and acquaintances, relaying news of the Club and sharing the many accomplishments of the children in an effort to obtain financial support for the Club’s programs.

“We are very fortunate that Christine chose to be our voice in the community.  She was one of our greatest champions and one of our most supportive leaders.  Christine left an unforgettable mark on our Club, our staff and our kids, and we miss her dearly,” said GCBGC Executive Director, Melissa Rhodes.

In Christine’s memory, the Club planted a garden at its entrance to commemorate her legacy and love for the Club and its children.  “Christine was a true friend and an inspiration to all of us at the Club.  I know this dedicated garden, the first thing the Board, the Staff, the kids and our visitors see when they arrive at the Club, will remind them of what Christine taught us all: when you walk through our doors, good things will happen,” said GCBGC Board President, Deborah Brisbane.
