April’s Junior Youth of the Month Katie Arevalo performed “Someone Like You” by Adele and March Youth of the Month Antonio Giannola played the trumpet to American folk song “Donkey Round”.  Senior Youth of the Month for June, Yefri DePaz who recently received the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Leadership Club Excellence Award, spoke at the Banquet about what the Club means to him.  “The Club is so special to me and I am grateful for all the Club has offered to me.  I was able to attend the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs for the Triple Play Summit. For many kids my age, this is a once in a life time experience.  How many kids can say that they got a chance to train in the same facility as Michael Phelps or Gabby Douglas?  It was truly remarkable and it all happened because of the club,” said Yefri.

Essence Fowler was presented with flowers while Elizabeth Garcia also spoke about her Youth of the Year experience.

“We are very proud of all our kids but especially the 24 members we honored at the Banquet.  They have all demonstrated outstanding character and leadership skills.  These kids are truly representative of the work we and our mission of inspiring and enabling all young people to realize their full potential as productive and responsible citizens.  We are delighted to host this Banquet that shows to them and their parents how much we appreciate their hard work and positive attitude,” said Director of Operations, Franca Trunzo, who hosted the evening’s event.
