Glen Cove EMS Final Report on the Heat Wave

EMS experienced average call volume throughout the record breaking heat wave. Despite the average call volume, EMS still took precautionary actions and were prepared to deal with any spike in medical emergencies. In total, we responded to 50 ambulance calls between July 15th and July 20th. Out of those 50 calls, 6 were directly heat-related medical emergencies. Our average call volume is 8 calls per day and 50 per week.

They include Glen Cove EMS, Fire Department, Police Department, Auxiliary Police Department and Harbor Patrol.
