GMA Karate Students Donate School Supplies

In conjunction with the national "P.R.E.P. in Their Step" program, students of GMA Karate & Life Skills gathered together new school supplies for families in need.

Glen Cove, New York, September 10, 2013 – From folders and notebooks to crayons and scissors, members of GMA Karate & Life Skills, located at 275 Glen St., worked together with East West Team martial arts schools around the country and donated new, unused school supplies for children in our local community so they could go back to school with "P.R.E.P. in Their Step!" "We enjoy giving back to our community whenever we can. It's important to teach our students help those who may be less fortunate than them, whether through community service or through charity," stated Sensei Hender Alvarado, owner of the karate school.

GMA Karate donated the supplies to Deasy Elementary School and Connolly Elementary School of Glen Cove to be distributed to those families most in need. "Education is very important for our children We work together with our local schools whenever possible to ensure that our students are set up for success," stated Sensei Andrew Goldberg, manager of the karate school.
