Although Malverne, West Hempstead and Lynbrook did not get hit as hard by Nemo as residents in Suffolk County and on the North Shore, they did wake up Saturday to roughly eight inches of snow.
Residents spent most of the morning digging out their cars, shoveling their driveways and sidewalks and playing in the fresh powder.
With temperatures expected to climb into the high 40's Monday, according to the National Weather Service, it's likely that the snow will not hang around for very long.
