1. Looking for the perfect stocking stuffer for your puppy? Come down to  on Forest Avenue on Saturday from 12-4 p.m. for the Glen Cove Animal Shelter Holiday Gala. Buy presents for your own pet or donate it in the shelter stocking. Bring your dog for games, meet and greet with other animals, raffles and gift prizes. Dogs, kittens and cats will be availabe for adoption.

2. The Glen Cove Youth Bureau hosts their annual milk and cookies with Santa event tonight from 6:15-7:15 p.m. and 7:30-8:30 p.m. at City Hall for children, ages 1-13, and their families. Reservations are required. Call Sandra Potter to hold your spot 515-671-4600.  Leave a message providing the parent/guardian name, full legal name of the children, age and gender. Each child will receive a gift.

5. Big Red Sports: Come down to West Hempstead High School at 6:30 p.m. tonight to cheer on the Glen Cove boys basketball. At the same time, the girls varsity basketball team will take on West Hempstead at Glen Cove High School.
