1. Snack with Santa and the elves at the YMCA on Saturday from 1-3 p.m. It's free for children ages one to eight, but they must be pre-registered by Friday. So hurry up and call: 516-674-8091.

4. : Celebrate the holiday with singer Noah Aronson at Congregation Tifereth Israel (CTI) in Glen Cove on Sunday, December 5 at 11 a.m. The concert is free and Jelly Doughnuts will be served to commemorate oil having lasted for eight days.

5. On deck for 10 a.m.: Tony Tedeschi's music column, "Sounds of Our City," a preview next season's Morgan Park Music Festival.
