Glen Cove Animal Shelter, Pet Group Team Up for Sandy Relief

Pet Sitters Club seeking pet-related donations for continued post-Sandy charity drive.

A Great Neck-based pet organization has extended a post-Sandy charity drive through the month of December in an effort to help with the recovery effort which has affected many Long Island animals.

Pet Sitters Club, owned by James and Naomi Garfinkel of Great Neck, collected more than two dozen crates, countless bags of bedding, food and other supplies Nov. 24. The donations were dropped off at the Glen Cove Animal Lovers League, a designated location for storm evacuated pets following superstorm Sandy.

Due to continued demand, the organization recently announced the extension of the program.
