Glen Cove Commemorates Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Residents marched from First Baptist Church to Finely Middle School followed by program in Wunsch Auditorium.

The City of Glen Cove, along with the , honored Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday with an annual parade and celebratory program at the Wunsch Auditorium.

The commemoration started at 9 a.m., and residents marched from  on Continental Place to  on Forest Avenue.

The 27th Annual Commermorative Program at the Wunsch Arts Center followed the parade. Students, community and religious leaders reflected on Dr. King and his influence. The program also included musical performances, an original poem by Glen Cove Poet Laureate, Victoria Crosby, and a display of student artwork in the lobby.
