Glen Cove Readies for Parade

Bernard Farnan is this year's honoree.

Glen Cove residents have the chance to honor the nation’s war veterans – those who risked their lives to protect freedom – through events on both Sunday, May 25 and Monday, May 27.

The City of Glen Cove Memorial Day Parade Committee – including VFW James Donahue Post 347, American Legion Post 76, American Legion Young-Simmons Post 1765 and the Marine Corps League Globe and Anchor Detachment – has planned a series of tributes.

The weekend will feature decoration of the city’s war monuments, church memorial services and a commemorative parade.

This year’s honoree is Bernard Farnan, a Korean War veteran.

The weekend offers the chance to pause and remember the countless heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedom.
