Friday is Veterans Day, a federal holiday honoring military veterans who have served the country.
The is closed and all federal, state and local government offices are closed, including the Department of Motor Vehicles and the county courts.
There is no delivery and no City of Glen Cove garbage pickup or recycling collection. The Long Island Rail Road is operating on a normal schedule on Veterans Day.
Locally, residents can attend , 's Veteran tribute at 12 p.m., and starring Brett Michaels in Westbury.
