Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

  • – Where/When:  Nassau County Museum of Art, 1 Museum Drive, Roslyn on Sunday. Why Go:  Art activities for the whole family. Pricing: Free with museum admission ($5 for adults, $4 for children, members free).
  • Where/When: Gold Martial Arts, 275 Glen Street, Saturday from 2-3:15 p.m. Why Go: Gold members are invited to join family and friends for a Valentine's Day celebration with pizza, snacks – and of course – martial arts. Pricing: Free with membership.
  • Where/When: Garvies Point Museum, 50 Barry Drive, Glen Cove, Friday at 11 a.m. Why Go: The 30-minute film captures the exciting life of an endangered and magical species: the puffin. Pricing: Museum admission is $3.00 for adults and $2.00 for children.
  •  – Where/When: Nassau County Museum of Art, 1 Museum Drive, Roslyn, on Saturday and Sunday at 12- 4:30 p.m. Why Go: Kids will enjoy and appreciate the art of the book with its imaginative rhymes and magical illustrations.
  • Where/When: Sign-ups are ongoing, but the clinic runs from July 11 - July 13, 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Lion's Field in Port Washington. Why Go:  Under the instruction of top Long Island college softball coaches, six to 14-year-olds olds have the opportunity to excel in softball. Pricing: $195 for the week.
