How Drugs and Alcohol Affect Teen Brains
Neuroscientist to discuss impact and prevention of substance abuse among teens at Finley Middle School Jan. 10.
Glen Cove PRIDE Project Coalition and the Glen Cove School District present "The Teen Brain Still Under Construction" at the Finley Middle School on Jan. 10 at 9 a.m.
Dr. Stephen Dewey, Neuroscientist and Times Herald “Man of the Year in Education” will serve as the event’s keynote speaker. Dr. Dewey will:
-Explain how alcohol and drug use affects the developing adolescent brain and the adult brain.
-Discuss a range of drugs, beginning with the most addictive from caffeine to heroin.
-Make the information come alive to faculty and students through the use of PET slides
