Karate Kids Display Skills at Graduation Celebration

Exhibition required students to show gains in technical performance, behavior at home, focus in school and overall physical fitness.

More than 150 members of GMA Martial Arts gathered at St. Patrick's Church March 22 to celebrate the Spring 2013 graduating class.

Students executed moves they learned over the past few months and demonstrated how they have improved their behavior, school focus and physical fitness.

The GMA staff also demonstrated its prowess, with owner and sensei Hender Alvarado leading the group in a Black Belt-level performance.

Alvarado expressed gratitude for the Church's willingness to lend its space for the use of his school, which is located next door on Glen Street.

"We sincerely appreciate the good relationship we have with St. Patrick's Church and once again extend our thanks to Deacon Dom Gabriel for facilitating the use of the church’s cafeteria,” said Alvarado.
