More Snow For Glen Cove Wednesday Night

A weak snowstorm will pass over Long Island, leaving behind up to 5 inches of snow.

Don't put away the snowblowers just yet – February is set to continue its snowy onslaught.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a weak snowstorm to roll over Long Island on Wednesday night into Thursday morning, leaving behind anywhere from 2-5 inches across the region.

While the amount of snow will be minimal compared to the vicious amounts left behind by Friday's blizzard, the snow will accumulate enough to cause treacherous driving conditions on the morning of Valentine's Day and add to the headache caused by the remaining snow on the ground.

Unlike the last storm, winds should not be an issue this time around. Forecasts call for light winds around 8-13 mph, possibly gusting to 18 at times. It will not create whiteout conditions, but might cause moderate blowing of newly fallen snow.

The storm, part of a low-pressure system, will bring behind it a cold-front that will help shift temperatures back for the end of the week, as highs will drop to the mid-30's ahead of what could be the next talked about winter storm.

As of this time, the National Weather Service has not issued any advisories or warnings associated with the latest storm.

Stay tuned to Patch as we continue to monitor the storm.

I think the best course of action would be to contact any board member (their emails are listed) andRead More see what he or she has to say about it. That's one source that I would find reliable on this.
