The sun brightened Harry Tappen Beach in Glenwood Landing on Thursday afternoon, perfect for enjoying the beach flowers that adorn the foliage.
After taking time to take in the flowers, take a dip in Hempstead Harbor, enjoy a snack in the picnic area and watch the boaters. This beach also features a sunfish, sailfish and kayak racks; a boat launching ramp; a marina, playground, swimming pool and halfcourt basketball.
This weekend is the perfect time to enjoy this North Shore jewel of a beach. Saturday is expected to near 80 degrees, with a 30 percent chance of rain Saturday, and only a 10 percent chance of rain Sunday.
