The in Rosyln Harbor is presenting three new exhibitions in its galleries through Nov. 27, including work by the famed Spanish artist Francisco Goya.

The Board of Trustees hosted a preview reception on Friday, Sept. 16, for members and their guests to view etchings by Goya along with works by Rimer Cardillo, a prominent Uruguayan American artist and a group exhibit titled "Exploraciones Contemporaneas," featuring Latin American artists.

Goya, a Spanish romantic painter, is considered a bridge between the old masters and the modern artists. He was a court painter to the Spanish Crown but also produced works that were commentaries on his time. The series of 80 prints titled Caprichos, published in 1799, depict the darker side of humanity.

Cardillo is a prominent South American artist who lives and works in New York City and the Hudson River Valley. His strong background in printmaking is a natural link to the Goya exhibit. Cardillo large body of work includes prints, photos, sculptures and installations.

The museum is located on Museum Drive in Roslyn Harbor, off of Northern Boulevard (NY Rte. 25A) one half mile west of Glen Cove Road (NY Rte. 107) Adult admission is $10. The museum is open Tuesdays - Sundays 11 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
