David Schwartz, an award-winning magician who teaches math at the high school level, and Clifton Jackness, an endocronologist steeped in the traditions of the Great American Songbook, combine their notable talents in A Little Music & A Little Magic, a program to be presented at Congregation Tifereth Israel (CTI) on Sunday, March 25 at 11:45 am. The program is free and open to the public. No reservations are needed. Refreshments will be served.

Jackness’ program will be a tribute to the legendary Jewish composers, among them Irving Berlin, George & Ira Gershwin, Rodgers & Hart and so many others, who were central to the creation of America’s Golden Era of popular song. Schwartz, who appears regularly at Monday Night Magic, New York’s longest running magic show, will be presenting a program of dazzling magic he’s honed through performances at corporate and private events.

Both Jackness and Schwartz grew up as CTI congregants and return often to the Glen Cove synagogue although Jackness now lives in Manhattan and Schwartz resides in Queens.

CTI, the oldest continuing Jewish congregation on Long Island, has been providing Jewish programming and education to the Long Island community since 1897. The synagogue is located at 40 Hill Street in Glen Cove, at the intersection of Hill Street and Landing Road.
