Morgan Park Summer Music Festival Presents The Wizard of Oz

On Saturday, August 13, Morgan Park Summer Music Festival presents The Wizard of Oz, a show sure to delight the entire family.  The show is free to the public and will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Morgan Park.

Follow the amazing and fearsome adventures of Kansas farm girl Dorothy as she and her little dog, Toto, travel to the Land of Oz only to discover that there’s no place like home. The whole family will enjoy Plaza Production’s musical version of the beloved Frank Baum classic that was immortalized in an MGM musical starring Judy Garland, Ray Bolger, Bert Lahr, Jack Haley and Frank Morgan. Harold Arlen’s Over the Rainbow, written for the MGM movie, became Garland’s signature song.

Morgan Park Summer Music Festival is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization that has been providing free concerts in the park for 52 years.  The shows are completely funded through the generous donations that are received from local businesses and individuals.  Tax payer money has never been used to bring the high caliber talent to the Festival year after year.
