Vetrone Advances to Talent Show Final Round

North Shore High School senior will perform on MSG Varsity program airing Sunday.

Glen Head teen Lisa Vetrone was voted into the final round of MSG Varsity's Talent Show airing this Sunday, according to the network.

Vetrone, 18, is one of four individual vocalists performing in the finals. Two other categories of vocal ensembles and dance ensembles will each feature two acts.

The show features high school artists from around the tri-state area. Vetrone enters the finals along with acts from Sayville, Commack and Mahwah, N.J.

"While the show began to air back in April, for these performers it all started much sooner," said host Jared Cotter, a former semifinalist on "American Idol."

"I am excited to see which three acts win it all," he said.

Vetrone sang Elvis Presley's "Return to Sender" in the semifinals, for which she received enough online votes to advance to the last round.

The winner in each category will be announced on MSG Varsity, channel 14, on Sunday, June 3 at 8 p.m.

If Vetrone wins, she'll be awarded two days in a professional recording studio with an award-winning producer to cut a demo CD or video, as well as a professional photo shoot.
