1. Alex Katz Exhibition at the Nassau County Museum in Roslyn

Featured are vibrant portraits of family and friends that are a hallmark of the artist’s career as well as early landscapes and collages. This exhibition was organized in association with the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.See details here

2. World War II Planes in Farmingdale

The American Airpower Museum at Republic will display historic B-25 Mitchell bombers and World War II escort fighters in Farmingdale, along with a squadron of other World War II planes, vintage cars and period armor. The exhibit is part of the museum’s annual Wings, Wheels and Tracks celebration. Flight experiences will also be available in a B-25. The display runs From Friday through Monday, Sept. 2nd, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.See details here. 

3. Sinatra Tribute at Eisenhower Park

Singer and actor Robert Davi will perform a tribute to Frank Sinatra at Eisenhower Park's Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre on Friday. The free "Davi Sings Sinatra" concert begins at 7 p.m. with opening act, comedian Mike Marino. Learn more. 

4. Live Jazz in Huntington

Enjoy Jazz After Hours with The Barr Sinister Jazz Group Friday at 10 p.m. at the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington. Regulars at Cinema Arts, the group has performed across Long Island and Manhattan. Admission is $12 Members/$15 public and includes live music, light food and refreshments. See more details here.

5. Looking for Love

There’s a speed dating and singles event on Friday from 7:45-9:30 p.m. at the Inn at New Hyde Park. This event is for men ages 51-68; women 50-61. See details.
