UPDATE: Alert Issued for Missing Glen Cove Man

Cops issue a 'Silver Alert' for an 82-year man in need of medication.

An octogenarian needing medication has gone missing from his Glen Cove home, and Glen Cove and Nassau Police need help finding him.

Paul Stanco was last seen on May 21 at 3 p.m. at 4 McKinley Street wearing a red plaid shirt, gray pants and black shoes. He is described as 5-foot-9, weighing 210 pounds, with gray hair and hazel eyes.

Glen Cove Police say that Paul Stanco's usual routine was to drive to the local McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts and then to his residence. Officials say that when Mr. Stanco did not return as expected, his family became concerned and notified police.

Mr. Stanco currently suffers from diabetes and dementia and is in need of his medication.

Police say he owns a 2004 tan Buick Century, with the New York State license plate PS132. The Silver Alert was issued by Nassau Police late Tuesday night. The program disseminates information to local media, hospitals and other organizations when a senior citizen or other individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other cognitive disorders goes missing.

Many of those reported missing are located.

Call the Glen Cove Police at 516-676-1000 if you know where Paul Stanco is located, or call 911. You may also pass tips to Glen Cove Patch, and we'll pass them confidentially to authorities.
