Chip-A-Tree

Don’t Treat Your Tree Like Trash… Just Chip It!

Mayor Ralph V. Suozzi invites Glen Cove residents to mark their calendars on Saturday, January 7th for the annual Chip-A-Tree recycling program.  Although it may seem too soon to think about it, once it’s time to take down the Christmas tree, consider taking it down to Morgan Park for recycling. On January 7th between the hours of 9 a.m. and noon, the Glen Cove Beautification Commission volunteers will take your tree, chip and recycle it into usable garden mulch for the Adopt-A-Spots throughout the city.

Please be sure to remove all ornaments and decorations that may be harmful to the chipper.  All Participants will receive a sapling upon the recycling of their tree.  Special holiday warm-up treats will be available, such as hot cocoa, warm cidar, coffee and cookies.
