Glen Cove Gas Lines Growing

Police stationed at pumps downtown.

Gas station lines began to look like they did post-Sandy Thursday evening in Glen Cove, and they were only getting longer as of 11 p.m.

With forecasts of Winter Storm Nemo growing more serious, many drivers aren't taking any chances.

Glen Cove resident Sterling Green said he was called down to the Hess station on Glen Cove Ave. to help direct traffic when things got busy.

"When I started working a little after 6, it was already packed," he said. "The Sunoco shut down, the Mobil too."

The pumps at those stations began flowing again once a Glen Cove Police officer was stationed at each. Dozens of cars snaked out of entrances and down the roadways.

Despite the volume, Green said everyone was remaining calm and orderly.

Why the panic? Are you going to be driving around in the "blizzard" ? It's just a snow storm.

The idiots are out again, topping off their land yachts. Too bad you can't legislate away stupidity.

If they could legislate away stupidity it would be a death sentance for you.
