Feinberg, Residents Speak At Hospital Rally

Frank Feinberg, a major hospital donor, says honesty, integrity, respect and communication are missing in dialog with NS-LIJ.

More than 200 community members gathered at Glen Cove Hospital, urging hospital officials to maintain services there.

Outside the Mildred and Frank Feinberg Campus, Frank Feinberg said honesty, integrity, respect and communication are missing in the dialog with the North Shore-LIJ Health System. The Feinbergs donated $16 million to the health system in 2006, according to the Record Pilot.

North Shore-LIJ said recently that that operations are “unsustainable,” and plans to phase out in-patient beds in 2014. The hospital also plans to expand ambulatory surgery center, medical offices, outpatient cancer services, a community health and outreach center, and physical therapy and rehabilitation.
