LI Digital Summit is Tuesday, April 15

Leaders from AOL, LinkedIn, Mashable, SAS, Twitter and more to participate.

The third annual Long Island Digital Summit, presented by Melville-based The EGC Group, is set for Tuesday, April 15, from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.

What’s changed in the digital marketing arena since EGC launched its first summit?

“Three years ago, we needed to talk about the importance of digital marketing,” said Nicole Larrauri, EGC’s managing partner, noting that the conversation has changed. “Now we need more specialty instruction.”

To address those needs, the 2014 summit will include an opening presentation by David Shing, also known as “Shingy,” AOL’s digital prophet.

New this year are a workshop on using Google Analytics to improve website UX and marketing, and topics including how to get the most from big data, the inside scoop on Twitter, and more. A CEO roundtable luncheon will feature Jim McCann, chief executive of 1-800-Flowers.com. The summit will also include an announcement of a new student scholarship.

  • Lance Ulanoff, Mashable
  • Dan Kim, Red Mango
  • Tamara Dull, SAS
  • Amanda Farrel, Twitter

Last year’s summit drew more than 400 in attendance, including professionals in management, administration, marketing, media, public relations, information technology and finance, as well as anyone whose business is impacted by the changing digital landscape.

The summit "promises to be a valuable day for anyone interested in gaining best practices in the digital world,” said Ernie Canadeo, EGC’s president and CEO.

Those who attend “will leave with at least three things they can use in business or in their personal lives the next day,” Larrauri said.
