Queens Theater Building Purchased for $20.5M

A group of city real estate investors have purchased Forest Hills’ Midway Theater building for $20.5 million, the Real Deal reported.

Brick Capital’s Eric Roth, BLDG Management’s Lloyd Goldman and Eastern Consolidated’s Brian Ezratty purchased the 73-year-old building, located at 108-22 Queens Blvd., which is home to United Artists Regal Cinema.

The sale is listed among recent transactions on Brick Capital’s website.

The investors intend for the theater to remain intact since Regal Cinema has a long-term lease, but it could eventually be viewed as a development opportunity.

3 Businesses Planned For Former Rite Aid

A former Rite Aid in Syosset will be divided into three businesses, according to a representative from Woodbury-based Kabro Associates, one of which will be a bank.

A roughly 4,000 square foot NESCU Credit Union branch is planned to occupy part of the 11,2000 square foot structure. Kabro is negotiating with other tenants to fill the remaining space. 

Serving Healthy Lunches, One Meal at A Time

A Long Island mom is redefining the term “healthy lunch.” From a commercial kitchen in Bethpage, Jennifer Ross and her team of are preparing and delivering nutritious lunches for adults and kids alike, through her company, Heart Beet Cafe.

On Sept. 4, the company began delivering boxed lunches – multigrain wraps with antibiotic-free chicken or tofu, an array of salads, complete with chocolate chip cookie, bottled water, and a fortune-cookie-style nutritional message. The service is geared for adults living or working in Plainview, Syosset, Woodbury, Farmingdale, Bethpage, Plainedge, Hicksville, Levittown and East Meadow.

The company is now also taking online orders for ready-to-go lunches – with a minimum of five orders – that kids can take to school. Beginning in October, Heart Beet Café will deliver meals twice a week, so the food stays fresh, to homes in Nassau and most of Suffolk.
