North Shore-LIJ Medical Group Names Ira Nash Executive Director

Nash's goal: To focus on providing 'accessible, attentive and high quality patient care.'

Ira Nash, MD, has been appointed senior vice president and executive director of the North Shore-LIJ Medical Group.

Nash will work with North Shore-LIJ Health System’s administrative and clinical leadership while heading the medical group, which consists of more than 2,400 physicians. 

At a time when the “healthcare landscape continues to change,“ Nash said in a statement that he aims to keep the medical group “focused on providing accessible, attentive and high quality patient care.”

An Edgemont resident, Nash previously served as vice president and medical director of North Shore-LIJ’s Physician and Ambulatory Network Services. Prior to that, he served as chief medical officer and senior vice president of medical affairs at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan. He is board certified in cardiovascular diseases and internal medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association.

Nash also currently serves as professor of cardiology and population health at the Hofstra North-Shore LIJ School of Medicine.

A Harvard University Medical School graduate, Nash completed an internship, residency and fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
