Readers' Choice: Vote for the Best Preschool

Let us know the best preschool in Glen Cove, Great Neck and Port Washington so we can put it to a vote and identify the Readers’ Choice 2012 winner.

Parents are very particular when it comes to picking a preschool for their children. How did you select the right place for your child in Glen Cove, Great Neck or Port Washington?

Was class size or staff qualifications a factor? Cost or location?

Patch is relaunching its Readers’ Choice program and we’re asking you, your friends, family, neighbors, coworkers and anyone else who knows the about our area to nominate the best spots.

The nomination period ran through July 9.

Now it’s time to vote. Cast your vote by Aug. 17 and help us decide who's best. Whichever business gets the most votes will be named our Readers' Choice winner.

Thanks in advance for your participation!

Well this isn't exactly fair....I vote for Happy Montessori, Port Washington Children's Center and Teach and Tumble Daycare. Who decided on these nominees? I don't know the ones out of town and when it comes down to the PW choices listed here I can only think "What about those great other places?!". Someone should have thought this one out a little more...

No doubt about it.

I agree with Jennifer. What parent is going ot travel out of town for day care. I would have to add that the YMCA at Glen Cove has a great Pre-School program.

As with every poll. It's political as to what or who gets to vote on what. Get it. i don't know any of these places ,so I won't vote on one.

My Name is Sue Martin. I am the director of Temple Beth Israel Nursery School. I appreciate that our school is chosen as one of the top five. However, I am very disappointed to see this survey. I think every school listed is a great school , as well as those that are not listed. Each of these schools meets the needs of the population they serve. I thought Port Washington strived to unite their community and a survey like this will divide and cause hard feelings.

Hi. This is Rabbi Michael Mishkin from Temple Beth Israel. While I appreciate the Patch and it's "Best of Port Washington" series--I think that is more appropriate for restaurants and ice cream shops. When it comes to nursery schools, it's not fair or constructive. Have a great summer.
