Empty In Glen Cove: Burned-Out Hunter's Grill

The former Hunter's Grill property future is uncertain.

Hunter’s Grill in Glen Cove burned down in March 2011, yet the remains of the restaurant are still standing in its Forest Avenue location.

The restaurant opened in 2010. Since the fire, owners Reginald Chaimov and Dennis Mavashev have opened another restaurant, Innuendo, in Port Washington.

The site's future is yet to be decided. There has been “no movement on the property," according to Glen Cove's Building Department.

Have an idea for another restaurant you would like to see move in? What else might fit in this spot? Share your thoughts in the comments section.

Let's make it a German restaurant and call it "Dresden"!

It would be a great spot for a Blockbuster Video store.

We need a descent place to go and watch sports. I drive all the way to Hicksville to watch to Buffalo Wild Wings. If you don't want to put it here, put a place where Ruby Tuesdays used to be. There is no good sports bars around here. Don't say Downtown Cafe either. When you go in there you don't see people in football jerseys watching the games. You lnow what I mean the real sports fan the dedicated ones. Downtown Cafe is good place to eat not wat ha game

Yes. A sports bar with about thirty different beers on tap. The tap selection sucks in Glen Cove. Big screens and beer!!!!

My vote is for Friendly's too. Nobody ever got a DWI from a Fribble. :D

Panera or Friendly's would be great! We could really use a cafe-type place like Panera in town, but parking sucks. This place has its own lot. Bring it on!

You can pay off that land all you want,,,,Taxes never go away and no one can afford $3,000 a month for ever....I know families who have had commercial property payed off for 2 generations.....Even payed off they cannot make a dime with $6,000 a ,,month in tax forever.....Some leases have tenants just covering the tax...Take all that money and give it away to other people,,,,

Do all those folks know that friendlies failed there? Tear down the eyesore and lets move into the 21 st century. Or take it off our taxes for bringing down the "tone" of the area, that possibility ought to get GCCH moving... If you call 2 years moving! And let's get someone like bdubs into ye old blockbuster.
