APPLE BANK FOR SAVINGS APPOINTS BARRY SCHWARTZ

BRANCH MANAGER OF LOCUST VALLEY OFFICE

 

LOCUST VALLEY, NY – MAY 6, 2014 – Apple Bank for Savings announced today that it has named Barry Schwartz Vice President and Branch Manager of its Locust Valley, Long Island branch office.

 

James Matera, Executive Vice President of Apple’s Consumer Banking Division, said, “With his over 40 years of banking and financial services experience with Emigrant Bank and its predecessors, Barry has become a valuable addition to the Apple team. He brings an impressive track record of success in business development, customer service and community outreach to Apple Bank.”

 

Prior to joining Apple Bank in 2013 as a result of the acquisition of the Emigrant Bank’s branches, Barry had been a Vice President and Branch Manager at Emigrant’s Elmont, Long Island branch and continued in that role following the merger.  He began his banking career in 1972 with Broadway Savings Bank which eventually became Emigrant Savings.

 

Barry attended Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn and is a graduate of the American Institute of Banking.  Residents of Wantagh, Long Island, he and his wife, Lucy, have been married for over three decades. They spend their vacations traveling all over the world.
