During the last week of July and the first week of August, stop in to the Animal Leagues temporary thrift shop, "Second Paw Shop", at 32 Village Square, Glen Cove, NY. Check out the many finds. You will be sure to discover an item for your abode’s decor.

This is a wonderful no-kill shelter that cares for a multitude of furry friends. The cats take over and the dogs enjoy their own space. This shelter has been known to even take in rabbits and a wandering pig.

The shop is planning on staying open every day for the two weeks. Do not forget to stop by on Thursday evening during or visit before enjoying the music in the square on Friday evening. 

Glen Cove’s car night is a great time. It takes place every Thursday until the end of September, by the village square, on Glen and School Streets, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. This is a free event to the public. If you want to enter a vehicle it is only five dollars and the proceeds go to the . Restaurants have outdoor dining for a pleasant meal while enjoying viewing the cars.

Friday nights in Glen Cove find yourself back in Glen Cove’s village square to listen to the running through Aug. 26, These summer concerts are free to enjoy in the Glen Cove Village Square, at the intersection of Glen and Bridge Streets in Glen Cove. The concerts are filled with wonderful music ranging from Jazz to Motown and Standards. Performances are from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sit and dine at one of the restaurants or bring your own chair to enjoy the concert.

Visit the North Shore and enjoy all that Glen Cove has to offer. Have fun enjoying the cars and music while at the same time contributing to a great cause and discovering treasures at the village square. Bring your dog (leashed of course) to share in the fun.

Stop by 32 Village Square during the last week of July and the first week of August to say hello and to purchase for your abode. You will find the shop to the right of the stage in the middle of all of the activities. The Animal Lovers League is presently taking donations of items to sell as well as looking for volunteers to mind the store. Contact them at 516 676-5913.
