Glen Cove Fights Diabetes

@ $780,000 Raised in Local Efforts!

Gold Coast Concours/Bimmerstock Continues Success

Glen Cove had a fourth successful “Gold Coast Concours/Bimmerstock” car show this weekend. The annual fundraiser is one of several local efforts that raise money for the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation or DRIF.

Martino Auto Concepts/MAC Auto Couture again presented Bimmerstock. Nassau County Legislator and DRIF board member Delia DeRiggi-Whitton has helped make this event happen for four years in a row.

The car show and related book helped bring in just under $80,000 for the DRIF. Over the last 4 years, this event has raised over $260,000 for the DRI. And the total local efforts including golf outings, a dinner and the car show have helped the Glen Cove area raise almost $780,000 for diabetes research.

Joe LaPadula said, “We are pleased to report $79,000 was raised for the cure-focused research at the DRI. This event has grown into one of the largest automobile shows on the Eastern Seaboard. It attracts sponsors, vendors and car enthusiasts from around the country and with our DRI relationship we know that everything we do helps fund the effort to find a cure for diabetes. I sincerely appreciate everyone’s help in making this year’s event such an amazing success. All who are associated with the event are grateful to our wonderful friends, sponsors, journal supporters and everyone who registered and displayed a vehicle, new and old, for being a part of this special day,” said Joe LaPadula.

Delia DeRiggi-Whitton said, “I am proud to announce that after this year, our combined local efforts to raise money for Diabetes research have hit $779,000! Once again everyone at Martino Auto Concepts, especially Joe LaPadula, organized an amazing event, and helped us raise money to find a cure for diabetes. I would also like to thank the Glen Cove police, EMS, department of Public Works, Auxiliary police and Mayor Suozzi and the City Council for assisting with this event. As a mom with a daughter with this condition it means so much to see our City come together like this."
