Bites Nearby: Delicious Restaurant & Pizzeria

Since 1965, three generations of the Bencivenni family have owned and operated Delicious. It's no wonder their pizza remains a staple of the Glen Cove community.

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, Glen Cove Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice:

Since 1965, when their first restaurant opened across the street, their pizza has been a staple of the the Glen Cove community. Whether it’s their fresh ingredients, decades-old family recipes, or quite possibly both, their infamous “pie” stands out from all the rest.

Three generations of the Bencivenni family have owned and operated the pizzeria, which continues to be run by Sal (second generation) and his son Mario (third generation).

The interior of their new location (formerly ) provides a cozy and romantic atmosphere for customers looking to eat-in. The “Delicious” dining experience truly embodies the Bencivenni family’s belief that a larger-sized restaurant is not always better. An outdoor patio can also be utilized for patrons wishing to enjoy their Italian fare, as well as the beautiful, sunny weather.

Besides their “delicious” pizza, some of their other signature dishes include a wide array of lasagnas, rolls, heroes and pastas.

The fried calamari appetizer ($8.95) was tender, yet very crispy. The eggplant parmigiana ($12.95) was lightly fried - not drenched in sauce - and contained the perfect amount of cheese topping. Dishes come in generous portions, at reasonable prices.

Free delivery is available with a $15 minimum purchase. Ask to see their catering menu for parties and events.
