Empty In Glen Cove: Former Dance Studio

37 Glen Street stands vacant.

The former Glen Dance Studio has sat empty since the studio moved from 37 Glen Street to the Waldbaums Shopping Center in Upper Brookville last summer.

The studio had been at the location for many years.

Lois Stemcosky of the Glen Cove Building Department said that there are no applications currently submitted for the site, and that the building is in the B-1 Central Commercial District.

It's incredible. I heard that when they built the Avalon, it was going to be the beginning of Glen Cove's downtown revitalization. Oh wait, that's the Piazza. That's what's going to do it! forgive me I sometimes forget which cart is being put before the horse. Empty in Glen Cove is a great idea for a series.

I think Glen Cove really needs another dollar store. Some brave soul, get in there and make it happen!

A rental office combining The Avalon, Ferry Terminal, Water Front and Piazza, and another tax abatement project the city mayor can think up!

"Empty in every single downtown non-mall space in the world" would be a more accurate title......

There's not a single former, aging retail-hub style downtown area in North America and much of Europe not experiencing the same problem, a reality which doesn't suite the partisan leanings of many correspondewnts here, but a fact nonetheless. The studio moved to a place with larger space, extensive parking and easy access via auto.

there are plenty of downtowns on Long Island in far better shape. Great shape? No, but Glen Cove is worse off than most, and its government is chasing after White Elephants as a cure all. Pretty soon they'll start talking about a monorail...

Thanks Gan for a voice of reason!!!
