Jack Wheatley, 17, of Glen Cove received recognition last month for his role as captain of the squash team at the Pomfret School in Pomfret, Conn., the school said.
Wheatley was awarded the school's Jess Wade Feldman Boys' Squash Award, which goes to the player chosen by the team's coach who has showed "sportsmanship, leadership and dedication, and encourages team spirit and unity," according to a release from the school.
The award was presented at the school's winter sports award assembly in March.
